Privacy Policy
BoardCount respects your privacy.
This Privacy Policy explains what information the BoardCount app collects, how it is used, and what choices you have.
What BoardCount Does
BoardCount is a drywall estimating app for contractors, remodelers, and related users. The app includes Quick Calc, one free saved job, and a paid Pro workflow for additional saved jobs, pricing, and PDF export.
Information You Enter
BoardCount stores information you enter into the app, such as:
- job names
- room dimensions
- openings
- pricing defaults
- labor and markup values
- business profile information used in proposal PDFs
This information is stored locally on your device in the current version of the app.
Purchases
If you purchase BoardCount Pro, the purchase is processed by Apple through the App Store. BoardCount does not receive your full payment card information. Apple may provide limited transaction status information needed to determine whether Pro access has been unlocked or restored.
Analytics
BoardCount uses PostHog, a third-party product analytics service, to collect pseudonymous usage analytics, but only after you choose "Allow Analytics" in the app. We use this information to understand feature use, diagnose reliability problems, and improve BoardCount.
Each participating app install uses a random installation identifier generated on your device. It is not an advertising identifier and is not linked to your name, customers, email, Apple ID, or a BoardCount account. BoardCount has no login or sign-up.
The events we send include:
- app version, build number, platform, update channel, and a test-build flag
- feature interactions such as Quick Calc, jobs, paywalls, and proposal previews
- structural counts and settings such as sheet count, room count, finish level, and waste percent
- purchase and restore result status, without receipts or transaction identifiers
- PDF export type and basic room/sheet counts, without PDF content or file paths
We do not send your job names, client names, addresses, room labels, phone numbers, email addresses, license numbers, notes, photos, prices, costs, margins, labor rates, receipts, transaction identifiers, PDF files, file paths, or other free-form text.
Analytics data is processed by PostHog in the United States. See PostHog's privacy policy at posthog.com/privacy.
Website Analytics
The BoardCount website is configured to use Vercel Web Analytics when that service is enabled for the hosting project. It can be used to understand page traffic, referrers, broad device and browser categories, and interactions with App Store links and calculator tools. BoardCount does not send calculator measurements, form values, client information, or other free-form website input in these events.
Website analytics data is processed by Vercel. See Vercel's privacy policy for more information.
BoardCount does not use:
- advertising SDKs
- cross-app tracking (the app does not use Apple's advertising identifier)
- user accounts
- cloud sync of your job data
How We Use Information
We use information only to provide the app's functionality, including:
- calculating drywall estimates
- saving jobs on-device
- applying your pricing defaults
- generating estimate and proposal PDFs
- determining whether Pro access is unlocked
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your job data with third parties except as needed to provide platform functionality, including:
- App Store purchase processing by Apple
- PDF sharing actions you initiate from your device
- Pseudonymous product analytics processed by PostHog as described above
- Privacy-focused website analytics processed by Vercel as described above
We require service providers that process BoardCount data to protect it consistently with this policy and applicable requirements. We do not sell personal information or use analytics for advertising or cross-app tracking.
Data Retention
In the current version, your saved jobs and settings remain on your device until you delete them or remove the app. If you delete the app, locally stored data may be removed from your device by the operating system.
Pseudonymous analytics is generally retained for no longer than 24 months unless a shorter period is needed, after which it is deleted or aggregated. Security and operational records may be retained longer when reasonably necessary to prevent abuse or comply with law.
Your Choices
You can decline analytics on first launch or turn off "Share pseudonymous usage analytics" in Settings at any time. Turning it off stops future analytics and removes the local random analytics identifier. You can also choose not to enter client details, delete jobs, remove the app, or restore purchases through Apple.
To ask a privacy question or request deletion of data that we can reasonably identify, contact office@ironcanyon.co. Because BoardCount has no account and does not collect names or emails in analytics, we may be unable to link historical pseudonymous events to a specific person after the local identifier is removed.
Children's Privacy
BoardCount is not directed to children.
Security
BoardCount uses platform-standard storage and App Store purchase systems, but no method of electronic storage is completely secure.
Changes To This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version will be posted on this page.
